The campus session on 16.02.2010 was very useful as it clarified what is required from me for this module as a whole, and what I need to be doing at this stage of the module. I have learnt that I work most efficiently and most effectively when I have some structure to my work. I know that if my mind is organised then I can progress forward in an organised and positive manner.
After the campus session I had a one-to-one meeting with my tutor to discuss my project ideas. Through discussing the ideas in person with Paula, I was able to explain my ideas in more depth and talk with Paula about the different options for research methods, practicalities within the project and further reading about the methods I may wish to investigate. Paula provided me with food for thought, and helped me to consider how I can make my thoughts more precise and therefore structure the project in a realistic and effective way.
I had previously conversed with Paula about some of my ideas via email; however speaking in person with Paula reinforced what I have always believed… I personally can converse so much more eloquently with people when I speak with them in person, as opposed to emailing. Also, in general, more conversation is generated by talking with someone as when new ideas come about and you can address them immediately.
I am very interested in learning more about the casting process and would find this knowledge invaluable for future auditions; however I feel that this may not be a very practical line of investigation to down - I think that it may be too subjective.
I am also very interested in TV dramas and films and so I am going to brainstorm some ideas for projects relating to these areas, in particular, relating them to the actors involved.
